More than 2.2 million people will live in integrated communities built by PIF-owned real estate developer ROSHN by the end of the decade, helping to transform Saudi Arabia into a nation of homeowners, in line with the Vision 2030 transformation strategy.
ROSHN Group CEO David Grover, speaking at the UK-Saudi Business, Trade and Partnership Forum in London, said: “Saudi Arabia is embarking on a massive home-building journey with the goal that 70% of Saudis will own their own homes by 2030. This is made possible by the Saudi government’s incredible support for the real estate sector.”
Grover believes the country’s combination of building-friendly planning laws and large investment is making it one of the most vibrant real estate and construction markets in the world. “Our vision for ROSHN is to transform the way people live, work, and play throughout Saudi Arabia while maintaining and promoting the cultural identity of the nation,” he added.
ROSHN’s communities include the 20 million sqm SEDRA community in Riyadh, ALAROUS in northern Jeddah, WAREFA in Riyadh, and ALFULWA in the Eastern Province.
Real estate is a key sector for PIF, which serves as an engine driving the country’s economic transformation. ROSHN’s developments also align with the sustainability targets of Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative, with a focus on energy-efficient, pedestrian-friendly communities, and a goal to plant more than one million trees across its projects by the end of the decade.
